• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

3rd Leg Kopiko SX series -- Bacolod Negros Occidental

Mini-Sponsor
Here's a few pics and videos from Bacolod of the 3rd leg of racing here in the Philippines ...

Really cool event for everyone involved ...Lots of different bikes rolled into the area by fans ... The 2 days of racing was almost completely sponsored included all lodging and food and the trip across the island chain ... Makes a guy wanna be a racer instead of a trail rider when treated so well ...

Now, being so close to the ktm fielded team here has a whole new meaning ... I did say the words "Husqvarna Racing team" to their manager and just a laugh back from him ... I'll be checking back in with him on any new teams added with him ...

My rider Ayen rode the 08 WR250 very well ... A 1st, 2nd, and 5th overall place finishes during the 2 days of racing ... 2 hole shots that look like heaven on earth as they unfold ... I'm really glad and lucky to have this true racer guy on my bike ...Its really fun for me to watch him race ....

Here a few pics of the track ... very dry and dusty .... SX type jumps but smaller that that opening round in Cebu City ...

Starting straight-away ... 20 rider gate I think ... Once I was on the eztreme outside and the next time I was on the extreme inside ... I'll add the helmet cam below ... I really need to get serious on my starts and opening lap ...

Thats the orange GRP team just on our right ... Glenn Aguliar is their rider... 14 time champion here. I didn't go over and meet him but I plan on saying something to him in the near future since we are bike company BROs now on some unknown level ...

We were hoping for some rain but you can see the skies started clearing up ...

This is Ayen getting the hole shot in the Open Enduro class ... Just too cool for a country boy like me to see a Husqvarna out front ...

Second moto Open Enduro ...

Hole shot again and that honda rider is still after him ... Honda guy actually gets in the lead and holds it on the next to last lap ... Winner of the second moto will win the overall if they both go 1-2 on the day ... So their racing was a little more intense ... I never doubted Ayen as I've seen him race before ... He knows how to win a race :) ...

Few more pics ....

Their PROs...

Some photo guy sent me these shots of Ayen on the 250 ... Might be sequence shots.

This is Pepo Rubi putting on his helmet and Ayen getting ready to enter the track for some ExA racing ...

This bike was not ridden on the 1st leg ... The WA state 010 TC250 was the weapon that day ...
101_3116.JPG

Perfect attendance for this WR250 ... The overall winner for the series gets a yr of coffee or some big coffee lump of some size and most likely overall attendance to the series will decide the coffee offer ...

As bad as I look here, I'll post this ... About any track can be fun to practice on with friends but racing is quite different ...Not that it cannot be fun but you gotta be ready ....
