  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 360 intake boot/manifold equivalents

thought i read somewhere here that the 360 boot is discontinued but the 250 one works? is this true and what year 250s will fit? do they have the correct angle for the airbox?

I'm pretty sure that the 360 boot has a different bolt pattern than my '09 250 but i'll double check for sure.

One of my 360 boots tore not too long ago and I got one on ebay for a reasonable price.

Somebody here posted a link to a place that makes aftermarket boots for the 125 or 250 for around $100, maybe they could make a 360 boot as well.

I'll look through my parts to see if I have a spare in usable condition but i'm pretty sure I don't

You're talking the manifold between carb and reeds, correct?

The boot is quite a bit different on the 360, with how it mounts to the reed cage and all. They wouldn't be able to swap over.

If you mean the airbox to carb, that won't work either, more than likely. It was something that I had to switch between the '92 and the '12 when I swapped the 360 in. The lengths on those are quite different, so I don't think you'd have the fit with the 250 boot on the 360.

yes, im after the boot between the carb and reeds. mine isnt bad yet, but id like to pick up a new one or at least a solid spare..wouldnt mind the the other airbox to carb boot as well...

May talk outta turn here the air box to carb trunk horn thing from my 250 1998 fitted my 360 2002 no problem.
As for fixing the cage, some silcaflex would do the trick industrial silicone or a rubber solution of some sort may be your best bet.

The intake boot or reed block boot is unique as the the 360 carbs sits more off centre than the 250 carbs. If yours is cracking and can't find a replacement (either 2nd hand or new), shoegoo is the bomb!!!

so this brings up an interesting thought
if the 250 boot and manifold are different from the 360 and they share a frame and cases
can you use a 250 boot and intake

The intake bolt patterns are different the 250 is smaller entrance port.
But the air horn trumpet trunk thing fitted straight on from my 250.
So yes to airbox to carb and
No to manifold

The 98 WR 250 manifold also fits the 95-97 WR/CR 125's when using the Keihin PWK 36mm A/S. It straightens up the inlet tract quite nicely.
