• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

35mm Fork Seals

grouty

Auto Lover ...
Has anyone got a definite part number for the Honda seals used in the 35mm forks ??
Failing that a model description would do. I tried a search on here but came up with no useful part numbers etc.
The only Honda ones I have seen listed are 35-48. The Husky forks need a 35-47.
Those that have used the Honda ones .... did you fit the two seals per side or just one ??
Mine are weeping again, and I really don't want to have to do them for a while. So something that is guaranteed to work would be good.

I was having trouble with my 35's having a lot of drag using to 2 Honda seals (sorry don't know the Honda p/n, try seaching CL77 Honda 305 fork seals, 35mm x 47mm x 10.5mm).
I was also trying to sort out my race tech emulators at the same time to complicate things.
I took one seal out and it reduced the drag slightly, then I blew a seal next time I rode it.
Turns out I had a bent upper fork tube, starting to bind at about mid stroke.
I found another pair of tubes and now with 2 Honda seals per leg, the forks are much smoother and compliant (in the garage).
I haven't had a chance to take the bike out riding since I straightened the forks out (pun intended).
When I used to run these seals back in 78, I never had any seal problems.
