  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC 350 or 501??

Seems like some guy in charge still wants the Orange bikes to be just a little better, even though on the track or trail blue and white seems to have more fight.

With that logic the FE350 and the 350EXC should be the same. When purchasing, the main thing you want to ask yourself if you want linkage or not and if you do, is it acceptable that you loose a few hp. If you are buying the Husky because you are a die hard fan, then there is no question. But if color is no matter and you want the best bang for your buck, orange is still in the lead as it has been even when blue was Husaberg. Not saying the Husky is a bad bike to own, with a few tweaks, just as they did to the Husaberg, the Husky moves right up to position with orange.

cheers mate, I am a die hard husky fan, and as such a traditional "hater" of the pumpkin, but i don't want to short change myself either, i do prefer a linkage to the PDS and the few rides i've had on mates KTM's didn't impress me, i found them harsh and they tended to skip off obstacles rather than roll over them but both bikes i've tried are ridden by much faster guys than me so i'm guessing they like them firm. I'm not really keen on losing out on HP just cause it's white and not orange though, as a 350 i'm concerned it might struggle on the road for the times i'm in between tracks etc.

Loony mate, you know me from the "other forum" and I wouldn't lie to you! Get an FE501 and get the forks sorted ( shocktreatment, Terry's system) and don't look back!
For the $500 bucks difference don't get a 350! 501 rides much better and they have the same forks, so the job to fix them stays the same.
I can tell you what to do for the forks, you got my email.
Since I done the forks I love this bike, wouldn't trade it for anything else!
This thing flies and is a tractor uphill!
