• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2500$ off all new huskys ?

The long stroker!! yee haa. I was always thinking the same with the Husky 125/144(165) just increasing the bore size, for all around simplicity cost I believe,
whereas TM for one bores and strokes their 125 for the 144 mod. (125 54x54.5, 144 56x58.2 for example)

Looks like the discounting has come to Australia!

And i just bought a 2012 TC250 :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Geeze that must hurt, mate. And all others in the same position.

I wish I had the money to spare on a bike at the moment. Steph at R & D would finally get more money from me than just the small stuff I usually get from him. I hope he, and other long time Husky dealers here in OZ, don't get shafted by the current goings on. I fear some may not have bikes to sell - I'd not be surprised if the blokes in W.A. get control over Husky importation, and that they just move them into KTM dealerships.

Imagine being a dealer that just sold bikes in good faith, and then having p**sed off purchasers coming back in.

Of course, being the recent purchaser, would be a hell of a lot worse.

Hang in there sport, and ride your new (?) bike - have some fun, as that's why we ride.

For me personally it doesn't hurt that much, yeah it's annoying and I would have loved to get the bike heaps cheaper, but I honestly think that if the guys that I bought the bike from, and have bought 7 bikes from, and are my mates that I ride with knew about the price reduction they would have told me about it, so I won't be storming back in there on Monday morning complaining about it.
It is what it is, and I accept that, there's not much I can do if I buy a bike, and a month later the Factory decides to have a fire sale and heavily reduce the price of the bikes. It's my bad luck, maybe I should have read the play better and anticipated Australia following Americas lead in discounting the bikes, so if any things to blame its my own stupidity!!
On the plus side I can see a CR65 in my very near future****************************************

Sure there is, stop buying retail from manufacturers who do this on a regular basis, I am.

You could do that, or you could also buy them when they are on sale. For years now they have been very consistent at blowing out last year's model with heavy discounts. That's the case in the USA at least.

Some dealers are selling new TC250's and CR125's for $3500, and this seems to happen every year. For this reason I wouldn't want to buy one at anywhere close to full retail.

That being said I paid $6k for my CR125, but we don't seem to get the huge Husky rebates that the USA gets. Resale value is higher here too as a result of that. I still think I got a heck of a great motorcycle for a bargain price.

Resale values of dirt bikes seems to be at an all time low (relatively), so as a consumer you really have to shop for a bargain when buying new.
What Camstyn said, I wont be buying more Husky's until the brand is firmly re-established (read YEARS) and not using Chinese parts anymore.

Just got back from riding my over priced TC250 with it's crappy resale value.
i can honestly say that i don't give a rats that i bought it a month before the price reduction, or its resale value is low because i had an absolute BLAST on the thing today, it's so much fun to ride

I have better things to do than worry about some money, like being happy for instance! and i was extremely happy today out riding my Husky with some mates

I am sure you still paid less for it than a KTM.

Someone here said Malcolm Smith Motorsports in CA had one on thefloor for that price.
Ya, I was up there last week picking up a part. Walked in and, right out front, there it was!

By the way, lots of deals on Husky's there right now. There's also a dealer out in Redlands, CA giving huge deals on new Husky's.
