• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250 X-Lite Engines to Power GASGAS

I just read over on the GASGAS forum they are negotiating for a supply of these engines for next year. From what I understand, Yamaha (current 4-T supplier) wants to retain their newly overhauled motor for themselves.

Sounds like a little competition REVing up between the brands ... Don't ya just luv what bmw appears to have set in motion across the dirt bike world..

Yeah , it's kinda interesting. Appears KTM bought the rights to usage of the trademark only leaving BMW with a "catalogue" of technology to license how they see fit. You may see the "new" Husky competing with versions of it's former self in the future......Sci-Fi movie or ..... inbreeding? That X-Lite chassis may show up yet!

The "new" Husky competing with versions of it's former self in the future ... the weirdness continues ...

Go on... Some please give us a pseudo bike test of a 2015 gasgas 310. What is this bike like with a gasser skeleton and a husky heart?

Gas Gas should just buy the intellectual rights to the last Italian Husq frame and 250/310F engines if its true that BMW still owns it and not KTM.

The new Gasgas X-LITE are ready... The prototype in EICMA:

Also the new Gasgas Ec450 Raid 2015 powered by Yamaha is under the red coat...

Wow, Gas Gas - Beta have upped the ante for offroad scooters, these should prove excellent for the cow-trailer group. I'm glad i waited an extra yr. before buying but there are so many choices from Spain and Italy it will be a tough call. Sherco included. 2015 will be a feast.:)

If the gasser would get that frame lighten things up. Yea sweet. We shall see. The gasser also should do the brembos....

In 2014 Gasgas reduce the weight with the new frame about 2'5 kg... also the Xlite is the lightest 4stroke engine.

I hope they fixed the starters

I hope so, Hva fixed starters in 2013 (red head)... I'm sure that GG will improve it more...

The new Gasgas X-LITE looks sweet!
