2nd Fastest Old, Slow Guy!
Was riding / training SingleTrack on Tuesday when I noticed that I was getting a strange tinny vibration noise.
I kept trying to figure it out. It was not consistent enough for me to diagnose in the field.
Sounded down low, so just finished up and "limped" it home.
After getting it home, I noticed that my header pipe had some play in it and was vibrating.
It has been banged up a bunch already, and blown back out so I was not thinking too much about it, but it turns out that I had broken the right hand side leg of the subframe.
The exhaust was then acting as the structure to hold the stiffness of the bike, and it started to fold the pipe right near the exhaust of the engine!
Pretty wild!
First time having a subframe issue between my 2017 and now with almost 70 hours on the 2019.
Are you all finding that the newer model ones are more brittle?
No one locally had it in stock, but luckily Rocky Mountain did. With the holiday I will have it on Tuesday.
