• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 2018 TE150 price.....

Norman Foley

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I saw US prices posted on FB for the 2018 Huskys. A $300 price rise for the TE150, from $7999.00 to $8299.00. I sure hope they haven't cut any content out, with the price increase.... Rumor was that D.I.D. wheels will be replaced on Enduro models, with the Giant wheels that KTM uses. That's a downgrade in my eyes....

"At my own discretion" I chose not to put the $$$ into a new bike last year, and opted to wait for the 18... That $300 was disappointing to see, yes, but I'm still on the list for the '18 150xcw.

As for the Giant rims, I have two bikes with Giants, and Holy Smokes they've been good! Tough as nails for me. Still straight, spokes staying tight, and no cracks. I will have to say that I'm very meticulous about checking wheels. Every time I take the tire off, the tire-less wheel goes back on the bike and I true and tighten as necessary. Only a "little" has been needed, but maybe that's what these Giants need?

Giant wheels on my '16 200 have been fine, But I like the look of the D.I.D. on my Husaberg and Husky. Husky is supposed to be a little nicer than a KTM....

Well Norm,

Looks like you gonna have to shoe an extra horse for the difference of the 17 to 18 prices.

Then you gonna have to shoe another horse for your rims.

That's only two horses extra.

Just teasin ya Norm! You better get one!

Nother philosophy?

Maybe in 19 the TPI 150 breaks for $8999?

Maybe they are moving the bar a little so it does look like a $1,000 hit?

As far as marketing goes...... That's exactly what I would do......

My '17 was $7399 OTD. I told my wife in two years I'm going to buy a fuel injected bike and she oddly didn't seem as excited about it as I did. $9k would be a tough pill to swallow...

I understood the tc 250 went up a hundred....$300 for a already overpriced small bore...holy cow.....tc 125 with 150 kit...still barely justifiable.. As a tc 250 is only 300 more...

Slightly apples and oranges....TE150 has more equipment than a TC125 with a 150 kit or a TC250.
Price is reaching the the "Flinch Point" though....

My point actually is a tc 125 is only 300 cheaper then a tc 250.....when in reality a 125 used to be app 800-1000 less..flinch point for sure. 250 better bang for buck whether a Te or tc in my book..at that small a price difference..
