• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Not sure I am wild over the new look...

Hmmmm..... yeah. I don't know what to make of it either. The lower radiator shroud looks funny being so small compared to the top part. Lots of advertising space in the rear though. Sponsors should love that. Baby got back.

seems to be the trend / direction they are going. the new 701 SM is like that too only more so. I dont hate it but not sure I love it eight. All this said bikes usually look much different in person than in pictures.

Completely new engine. Look how high that clutch is mounted. Possibly a feature taken from the 70 degree 'Bergs? Trying to get some rotating mass closer to the center of gravity?

Lots of new street bikes also have the clutch mounted very high. Must be some mechanical advantage to its placement.

At first I thought the cutout below the rear of the seat was an air intake/hand hold. That would have been kinda cool I thought, but this pic makes it look like it's just a hold and where the seat bolt is located. So how the hell does air get into that air box?

i like the bigger sidepanels..would be a shame for makers to actually put things on a bike to deflect mud and water splashes away from you. one of my favorite things about my 95 is the huge sidepanels and snow shovel rear fender. i kinda like the look of the new ktm...did i just say that? put some real shrouds on it now!

what I find is a lot of MC pictures are straight from the side like 2 feet off the ground but most of us look at bikes as we stand next to them, much higher viewpoint like this...
