• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2016 ISDE Spain to include Vintage class

It would be interesting if younger riders (non veterans) ran the classic bikes while the older rider(from 1980 and earlier) have the choice of classic or modern. After all it should not just be about the machine but also those that rode them

The way I understand it , is that the class wil only run the last two days.. would be better to run the first two days when the trails aren't so rough..

imagine spending all the effort and $$ that Mr Typpt has spent on his works of art then flogging the poooh out of it at the 6 days.....

im over competing with these old girls, too hard to get them to a competitive level and keep them there. much happier riding vintage rides with no time clocks or winners.

just another thought though, be good if some snoozer like big Dave Knight got on an old bike and took it up to the new bikes for a couple of special tests....

100% agreement on that! Besides, in my case the greatest limiting factor in that equation would be the rider.

The reason it is the last 2 days is that the final day is usually a trail ride for 2 hours to the final Motocross. One hardish days riding would be fine.

Also, by this point in the event a 3rd of the competitors will have retired, leaving space to have a vintage class for a bit of fun. We will be going for sure!!!

I think it would be great to see Knighter out there and he does own an SWM, however after yesterdays cock up with being disqualified for missing a time check I reckon he has fallen out of love with the ISDE.
For sure Rob and I will be joining Andy if we can get entries.

don't get me wrong, it will be great to see some old scooters there in the big event as discussed, it just not my cup of tea qtm

If I am not mistaken, Mr Typpyt is only working on motocross , not any endurance types. But they would rock at the final motocross special test:)

MMMM. I am going to have to build a standard looking bike for myself first, if those regs are anything to go by****************************************

Yep Andy
looks like the 300 is out and the Zoke magnum conventionals too.
Looks like even putting an 86 fork with disc on a non 86 husky (i.e. on and 83 or 84) is not allowed.
