• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Unstudded class at Winter Series today. You just really have to want it!

Saw that on FB, what a cool race! Jealous that theres are a ton of races in the snow there. We have ice racing but most everything else stops...

Better for me.... I still want a woods 125. I want it to lug down and not stall, not like a MX version would be . Tommy Norton would probably prefer a TC....
I have a YZ125 that's set up about as good as it can be for the woods. A few months ago I rebuilt a 144 in a 1999 Suzuki for a kid and realized that if my YZ had that engine it would be perfect. The kit for the YZ is pretty expensive and requires modifying the cases. I might do that on my next rebuild but then again I could pick up a used red Husky 144 or wait until a KTM/Husky with linkage comes out with a 150 I can afford. My riding buddies claim I'm much faster on my 125 but I question rather I have the fitness to keep it on the pipe for hours at a time... I can be lazy on my wr250.

Finally had mine out again today for the first time in a long time. I changed the jetting per the manual for my area and temps which is basically sea level which consisted of a 178 main,45 pilot, and richer F(?)needle which is supplied with bike,Air screw was 1.5 out. Bike ran great and I'm just amazed at how smooth down low this little bugger is when you're off the pipe. Really good stuff for the technical slow stuff. I have no complaints. It handles like a dream is super light weight and flickable and for me I have no suspension complaints either!
For those wondering mine came jetted stock with a 42 pilot,175 main and G(?)needle. All I got for extra jets was a 45 pilot,172 main(luckily I had a 178) and f(?)needle.
The rejet did wonders and made the engine super smooth and it still rips from mid up like a good strong 125!
For those on the fence I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better all around small bore.

I was just looking at the jetting chart, on PDF of owners manual. The needles are: N1EG (stock), N1EF (richer supplied). Both you and Trail Rider agree, that the jetting manual is spot on. How's access to the carb for changes? Home is 1000-2000' and South Jersey is sea level.... so it looks like for the Winter, it's a clip position change between home and when I go down there.

It's tight but with some wiggle and force you can get it in and out without loosening the subframe or anything....The boots are obviously tight but once you remove it once you'll notice that they become more flexible....Honestly it didn't take me much more then 30 mins if that from start to finish....Just check when you pick yours up to see if you get a 178 main if not you'll either have to have one in your box of jets or order one....yes the F needle is the one and you'll end up leaving the 45 pilot in it year round possibly...I know where I am it's going to stay...
You're going to love this bike being you're a small bore guy!

Looking at the manual, it looks like you only get a 172 spare jet.

I rode a YZ with the I believe eric gore kit. I think it was a stroked 155 I thought. Very fast. Vry nice. Switched back and forth several times with my Double A buddy. (Husky 144) we both agreed could win easily on either bike. Strangely enough the YZ had stock suspension and the seat was lower. The suspension felt NICE and I mean nice with my 165 pound body.... I think the TE should of been a 150 to start with and the TC a 125............I am a good rider but not perfect. With any elevation at all I prefer the added torque of a 144-150

I couldnt stand my brothers yz144 but mostly dont like the very nuetral handling....

I liked my cr150 husky that i sold and kicked myself for it daily....

I liked my 04 CR125 stock.... to me as a Senior A guy.... the 125 when its on the pipe I can still control it and I dont ride it in the lower RPMs.... a 150 I tend to ride in the lower RPMs and when it comes on the pipe its like hold on....

Guess its just a preference.... I may throw a 200 in mine....
