Howdy,
I just picked up my 2015 te300 this Saturday. My last bike was a 2013 ktm 300 xcw, so while familiar with the motor, the 4cs forks and linkage are new.
I've read whats available here on the te300s. It sounds like:
Jetting. Stock settings are better than on the ktm 300s. Stock needle ok, or do I need the JD kit?
4cs. The base valve in the 2014 models was a poor design, resulting in harsh handling in square edge bumps. It sounds like there is no shortage of tuners to massage. I plan on respringing the suspension for my weight. 170 in street clothing. How easy is it to changes springs in the 4cs?
Linkage. After riding a pds bike for the last 6 years, my only complaint was handling in more high speed sections so I'm looking forward to seeing how the linkage behaves. I am cognizant that the linkage is more prone to catching on logs and rocks. In the ecea enduro series a significant portion of the events have rock sections so this is a concern. Whats most recommended for protection? Fastway guard? Other?
I cant wait to get this bike out in the woods.
Thumbs up.
Scott
