• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New for 2015 there is the Sportsmen class So there you have it a special entry class where you have no reason not to try it. You will only go 1 loop there are no fancy trophies, points, need for a pit crew or classes just fun and the pride of saying I did that OK There you have it Sportsmen class now who is going to give it a try See you there

Do they still line up for the bomb run? If not I'm lying and saying I'm a B rider lol

Gives me four months to get ready for the Gorman race. I gotta try at least once. Might even take the rear turn signals off. But the license plate and horn stay on! Meep meeeep...get outta my way!

Training starts tomorrow!

Totally jinxed myself, getting the bike ready to go ride Gorman tomorrow, and my effin horn died! Cleaned it with contact cleaner and no go. Maybe I can get one of those wooogah horns?

Got in 45 decent miles in today and tried to keep a race pace going here and there. The dirt was Perfect! Some sprinkles in the morning made for killer traction and little dust and no mud. Feelin froggy.

Oh I think I'm pretty much there. Will be cool to see what its like.

When I was a kid my Uncle and I were gonna do Barstow to Vegas (the real one, not the DS ride) but we both ended up crashing good on a fateful weekend at Cal City. A blown rear shock sent me over the bars at about 60 and dislcocated my shoulder and sprained the hell out of both knees. My uncle was doing donuts on his 430 XC and dislocated his hip. Not long after he sold his Husky (it was an 87 too, damnit!) and within a couple of years the Enviro-Nazis got the race shut down.

Gotta get a race off the list. Just afraid I'll get hooked. :D

Here is the bottom line. The View From Even Last Place is Better then the one from the side lines. Heck you guys trail ride all over the place, but say the word race and it scares off a lot of people. Now we have a sportsman class where you have nothing to prove. Just show up and ride . I really feel racing is way safer then trail riding anyday See you in Luceren in Jan
