  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC 2015 FC450 MXer?

Anyone moto-ing a 15' FC450?? Still running stock 4CS forks? I'm bringing one home tomorrow for a MX bike and thinking I might do the Race-Tech open chamber conversion before I really start riding it after reading all the reviews. Anyone riding it out of the box? Thanks

Most guys I know do. I suggest the race-tech/zipty/ESR fix first thing. You will love it. Last quote I got was 350 bucks for the mod.

Thought I'd share a photo before I scratch it all up. Bike is pretty sweet so far after 4 rides at the track. Suspension is not as bad as I expected ...as long as the track is fresh and groomed:D... but then when it gets pretty rough, say braking bumps, it starts to get pretty harsh and I have to slow it down. I'm still debating FC or going open chamber on the forks. Gets lot of looks being its usually the only new husky at the track when I go. Thinking I might race this bike at the Tecate Enduro next month instead of the WR300:thinking:

Nice pick up Ben!
Take it to George at S101. You won't be disappointed. The OC conversion he did for my 3 honey is really, really good. Hit me up we can go out to McCains and you can see for yourself. I will also be at the Tecate Full Gas Sprint Enduro. Viva Baja. Support your local tuner!

Thanks Nate! You have contact info for him? Know what base valves he used? I"ll have to get in touch with him, seen him at mccain I think. Cant wait for Baja! You camping?

Give him a call and tell him what you want the suspension to do for you and he will make it happen. I just rode my 300 at Cahuilla Creek today. Suspension performed really well big hits, ruts, brake bumps, square edges I could keep railing through it. I'm probably camping for the Tecate Race. There's a suspension dial in day at 212 land on Veterans Day that s101 is putting on. You should go if you can make it.
