Rode 2.5 hrs New year's day. Washed bike. Started after washing. Took it home where it sat for several days. Performed regular maintenance. Hit the button to start, cranks no start. Let off the button and try again, no crank. Jump starter solenoid, bike starts right up. While idling, I hit the start button. Starter turns, rules out switch, starter, solenoid. Remove seat, tank and shrouds. Found regulator has white wire cut about halfway through from seat. Replaced regulator, still cranks no start on first attempt, no crank on second. FI light does not come on, nor does fuel pump. Still jump solenoid and it fires right up. When running, FI light does not indicate fault. Bike has 85 hrs. Complete engine rebuild at 66 hrs thanks to the low crankcase vent and deep creeks. Most threads I read talked about regulator issues. Regulator is an open part. Has anyone ran into this before?
