  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bike starts and runs fine then when the engine gets up to temp the idle starts acting funny and the engine stalls , havnt done anything but change the plug and clean the air filter. Anyone possibly know the cause of this ?

if you are not still on probation, you can delete your posts on the repeated thread (if so do it ASAP before someone responds)

the CTS (aka WTS) is:
#8000 H3649
SENSOR, WATER TEMPERATURE
Part #8000H3649
$17.99

do not buy #8538490, which is the radiator fan switch and goes into the radiator hoses, not the cylinder.

just caught this thanks for that , luckily i ordered the right one , going to put it on soon and see if that fixes it

ok i changed the temp sensor with no luck , now i noticed something weird hot or cold if i ease into the throttle it revs just fine but if i mash it back the engine just chokes out and dies ?

Possibly the injector. Or fuel filter. Or an air leak.

Maybe the coil/ignition too. Check for a loose connection.

I know that's kinda broad- sorry.

good luck.

np any help is better then none haha , i checked for air leaks i think im good in that department. havnt checked the fuel filter, i have the throttle body off now im giving it a good cleaning the fuel injector looks ok, before i took it off i did fix the choke out issue , i had the pressure knob tightened the wrong way ( felt dumb after that haha). but now im back to the original issue , after i run the bike for 20+ mins as long as i keep going it fine but if i stop at a light or stop sign or in the woods or something the idles back to sputtering till it stalls, it will start back up after but then stalls Extremely easy like unless its in neutral , as soon as i shift to first it stalls again. I see you have the same bike Trenchcoat85
never had anything like this happen to yours ?

Hey noob, now that your bike is back (sorta) and running, where are we at? is it still doing the sputtering/stall thing?

BTW, make sure the idle is 2000 RPMs.

(my '14 has not had any problems. 6000mi)
