  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 TE310R popping and bogging?

I bought the bike new. It ran flawless for three years. After 180 hours the bike went dead. It sat for a year until I got the energy to look for faults. I took it apart to the bare frame. I found three broken wires where one went to the back light and one to the rear blinker. Third wire was connected to the alternator and there was the issue I THOUGHT. Happy and with a lot of energy I decided to do a complete engine rebuild. Since I put it all together it runs like crap on idle and low rpm (great on full throttle). It pops from idle to 75% gas and dies if I turn the throttle quick from idle to say 50% or more.

The only thing I have done is to rebuild the engine. The tps has been loose but udjusted to same numbers as it was. After that Ive tried to adjust it from 500-690 milvolts (690 is max). Under 550 it only starts with the kickstart. Ive have raized it with 5 milivolts increaments and It runs best over 660 but still very bad. Hardly NO idle and pops and boggs under 75% gas. If I drive on full throttle and enginebrake it pops like a machinegun. All fuel lines are okay, all filters new, the injector is ultrasonic cleaned and tested, all electrics work as they where new, exhaust as new. Any ideas?

I kept this bike as its the best ive ever owned, WHEN IT WORKED. Since 2018 Ive competed with a GG and two WR250f. I have now sold everything but this bike. I need it to run again.
