As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
My latest purchase came down to the choice between three bikes. KTM350xcf, Husaberg FE350 and the mighty TE310R. The "six days" ktm 350 is basically the same as the Husa so its just a matter of colour between those two. My dealer sells both Husky and Husa so I test rode the FE350 and the TE310R. Although I already have a Husky, I was leaning towards the Husa before test riding... here are my first impressions on the two bikes. Note: these were only short test rides on flat dirt tracks.
Power The husky felt stronger in low range and has a narrower powerband so gives quite a hit in the mid range. The 350 had a broader spread of power and revs out longer than the Husky but I feel you'd have to keep it screaming to get the most out of it.
Handling Both good but the Husky felt more agile probably because its narrower between the legs.
Weight I was surprised to be told by the dealer that the Husky is heavier on the scales. I'm not sure how much, but the Husky felt lighter when riding.
Best way to tell is to ride both yourself.
the 350 stalls a lot. even with a rekluse. how much for a cr165 brand new already built?

How can anyone tolerate a race bike that stalls? I don't care how light or fast it is...if it is not running what good is it? I had a similar problem with my '10 TE250 when it was new.
I rode Sat with a fellow with a 2011 F.I. KTM350SX. It looked like it was not to heavily used but he was constantly stalling and it smoked a bit too. I thought F.I. was supposed to fix that?
Even with E-start who wants a bike that won't stay running?
