  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE310 Rekluse install issue...

OK Rekluse is installed and broke in as well. It's only 17 deg F right now and snowing its arse off but that didn't stop me from going for a 20 minute break in ride. The install was pretty much easy following the directions with the exception of the locking tab under the 23mm nut. The supplied washer/locking tab is too big for the OEM nut. This was discussed on this forum before and Rekluse still hasn't addressed the issue. I used the OEM lock washer and had to lightly grind the tab down to fit properly but it was very easy to do. Here are some pictures. First picture shows me using the OEM washer and the second is the Rekluse washer that is obviously too large and the nut almost fits inside of it. In the instructions Rekluse tells you to use a 27mm socket to remove the nut but in reality it's a 23mm so they must not realize the size difference. I will call them and let them know but they most likely won't do anything to alter the instructions for the next poor bastard that stumbles along. Good thing we have Cafe Husky! BTW, this clutch rocks!!!

With the larger oil volume provided by the Rekluse clutch cover, are you able to get in a full quart vs 900ml?

Good question. I will do an oil change soon since I want to install the stainless filter sitting on the bench. I did need to add a couple ounces to top it off after the install so a full quart isn't out of the realm of possible. We will see.

I called Rekluse today and informed them that the kit is still incorrect for the TE250/310. They said they had never heard of the issue before. Same thing they told the last guy that posted this issue. I pressed the issue and also sent an email to the tech (Brian) and he said they would review it. The issue is they think the OEM nut is a 27mm and it's actually a 23mm. Not a hard thing to acknowledge and fix. Maybe if enough of us call in they will actually pay attention. Naahh, probably not but it was worth a try.

I know and that's what I told them but they still acted stunned. No surprise there. I hope the pictures help. I may call them and insist they send me the proper size locking washer just to mess with them.:busted:
