  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TC 250 header pipe on 2013 TXC 250R

Does anyone know if the stock Akropovic header used on the 2013 TC 250 will directly fit a 2013 TXC 250R?

Basically I know the header will bolt on, but will it properly mate to the TXC silencer?

If not, can someone recommend a spark arrested silencer that will work, since the stock TC silencer Is not spark arrested I don't want to use that just the header pipe.

Thanks

The tc header will not work with the txc silencer.

Are you sure the tc silencer is not spark arrested. I think I remember reading about people cutting the spark arresters out.

But, a TC system *will* fit directly onto a TXC. I know this because I have an Arrow ti system for a TC250/310 on my TXC250. I don't know off the top of my head if the Akropovic muffler is arrested, but the stock Arrow on my TC450 is arrested.

In 2010, the TC header rubbed the IGN cover on a TE/TXC because the TE motor is wider due to the E-Start.

I don't know if this is the case in 2012/13. I doubt it but it might be worth checking.

My 2010 TC header touches nothing on my 2010 TXC. It does, however, come close enough to the lower radiator hose that I wrapped that part of the header.

What kind of improvement did you notice ?

My highly calibrated butt-dyno indicates that it has a little more punch on the bottom, pulls noticeably better in the midrange and low-midrange, and it definitely pulls better on top.

I'm running the complete Arrow TC system on my TXC.

We do have one Arrow full system, we don't have a separate headpipe.

We DO have a Leo Vince slip-on though, for those looking for a muffler.
