• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 NW Gathering - East Fort Rock / China Hat

While Dean didn't get up front and center, you DID say that. :)

D'OH!!! Got me!

I can't edit the thread title :/ I might still be a little bit excited about how much fun it was.
I thought maybe because we brought 2014 Italian bikes to play with.We had 15 Terras a month ago now we are down to 6 not to change the subject but street legal huskys are in very limited supply at dealers and no more coming.

I really sholuld of brought Dean COFFEE up front and thanked him and all the CAFE HUSKY staff for making this happen and making it an event that nobody wants to miss. Never would of happened on this scale we all know with out all the staff and members of CAFE HUSKY coming at great cost together every year for the fun and good times.

Agreed, thanks Coffee.

One newcomer remarked hes never been anywhere where my bike is your bike take her for a rip,.he loved that carefree atmosphere and me too. Thanks guys

I left my 165 there for people to ride but i don't think anyone rode it. Bryon tried to play a little joke on me in the morning saying someone had rode it and smashed the ignition cover off it. He was disappointed when I could care less. :D

Fun time!

Sadly I could not pack my camera...

Yes it was a bit nippy in the mornings, especially Thursday & Sunday mornings (23f). I rode up on Wednesday and camped 4 nights, then rode home on Sunday. Should of headed south and gone through La Pine, because by the time I'd gotten to Bend my riding gloves were soaked, so I switched to ski gloves I had taken with me. Apparently from La Pine south there was not nearly as much precipitation. All the fun stuff on the way home - sleet/snow/rain/hail/thunder storms. Actually, % wise, I did quite well, it was just a long ride...especially in the mountain passes.

Apparently near where I live (my destination on Sunday) there was epic wind all day (6 big rigs tipped over), so in hindsight it was probably a good thing I did not arrive until later (10pm) when the winds died down a bit - but it was still windy enough some cars were doing 50mph on the freeway like I was. Wind in 1 direction would not have been a big deal, but it seemed every few seconds the wind would change direction.

According to my odometer, total trip was 1200 miles and about 25 gallons in fuel. Did not even eat in any restaurants except for Wubba BBQ in Bend on Thursday, which was good. So this was the least expensive trip to Bend by far. I did get a chance to stop by the new Atomic Moto location and met Brian and his wife again - great people and shop.

The only downside is a stomach bug I seemed to have caught about Friday/Saturday, which I thought was caused by freeze dried food I had eaten, but whatever it was kept with me until yesterday.

Next time I will definitely pack wool socks so my feet do not get as cold in the tent

This event would not be nearly as much fun without Bills/BMP/Bryons support - Thanks Bill! And thanks for the food Bryon!

The stomach bug... lives !... I got it Sat Night... and am still fighting it to some extent...

Someone was taliking about the ride the other day as always trying to estimate numbers of people there. They suggested a signed object kind of deal so next year going to make a plaque board type set up with Cafe husky logo and have everyone there write their name and more if they want ,will be neat to look at and let the memorys flow. Thanks to Tom,Val or Jon whoever suggested that.

Great Idea... already looking forward to next year and hoping you can bring the 250/300 2st's...

"Plaque board" - could be almost anything. Fender/bike/laminated picture on a board... put Bryon's thinking cap on, I'm sure he could come up with some interesting ideas. ;)
