• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 Los Ancianos Tecate Hare Scrambles 7DEC2013

Killer video on their web-site.

Saw the guy w/the white half-camper @ :31 (of the video) Sunday morning at the Tecate crossing on our way home.

Last year's course looked petty awesome.

How do you think the TC would do?

TeMec you would do just fine. also if more comfortable to get a taste, instead of good beatdown, you can race the international sportsmen AM race. its a shorter course and less technical, but pure fun. They usually do 5 or more laps. you go 3 laps and splash gas then finish. You need to do this event.

Good to hear. After watching the video I was kind of "itching" to try it.

Check border rules? I use a passport, some folks use a passport card. I still hear through the grapevine guys using other forms of ID. I'm not a fed , I just know I use a passport, after all it is another country. post the question up on the San Diego adventure riders site, lots of others are hitting baja regularly, someone there may have an alternative ID solution.

they've added more history stuff onto the website. Very cool 8 from 10 bikes in 1980 were Huskys with the Jack Pine enduro winner Bob Popiel winning this event

Yep, same up north,,,,you might get INTO Canada without a passport, but good luck getting back into US.

Los Ancianos has building their historical section like crazy. If you are like me and into racing history, just go through the riders on their minute listings for a trip through time of so many Nat and International class riders that have done the Tecate thing. The famous Husky riders alone are amazing then just a long list top tier MX guys as well. National MX champs/ National Enduro and other offroad series champs, ISDE guys, US, Can, Mex, Ita, Swedes and more. east and west coasters and all in betweens.
Also see how strong the Husky presence was up until the 90s.
