  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey guys I bought a 2012 wr300 and idk if it only has kph on the odometer but I did everything the manual said starting it with button pressed it comes up to a screen that says kph then it flashes random numbers lights and go back to kph no sign of mph anywhere help me get it to mph please I'm stumped

Mine took a dump before I ever got it to read MPH. But a friend who had the same bike told me the battery is more then likely dead or installed upside down... take it what for it is worth, like I said my computer crapped out before I even got a change to try either idea.

On my 09 wr250 the odometer kept resetting itself and this was from day one, the speedometer worked for about a year and then crapped out. The sad thing is I got one of the "good" ones compared to most on this forum.

I heard so many bad things about these meters that I never bothered to install the one that was in the lighting kit that came with my bike. Instead, I installed a Trail Tech Endurance II on my WR300, and also on my WR125.
Ditto that.

Mine did not work when bike was bought second hand. I discovered the internal battery was installed upside down. ( probably supposed to be inverted as part of a new bike pre-delivery ) Take note of the PRO
battery terminals and make sure the centre terminal is contacting the centre battery terminal, and the outer case is contacting the outer terminal. When upside down, both ODO terminals contact the battery case. Hope this helps.

Power on regardless

Thanks for all the responses guys it seems like the battery is right because it is keeping the odo up to date after every ride and shutdown gonna end up getting a trail tech soon tho for peace of mind I dual sport it so themp gauge would also be nice
