Is there a mod to fix the big gaping hole in the bottem of the airbox? it shoots water directly into the air filter on little water crossings, causing me huge running problems.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
can you take a pic?I have tried putting skid plate foam, didn't help much. So today I completely blocked off the factory drain. I then cut a 3/8 by 1 1/4in hole on the exact opposite side of the box,I then cut a piece of thinner rubber and riveted it over the hole on the outside. So now water can get out,but not splash in. Some kind of monkey designed the factory one. What were they thinking?? the rear wheel sprays directly at the opening and its a straight shot in. So hopefully My Little mod here works better.
well,I dpn't think its water at all now. Its the stator or coil, have barely any spark, which would explain the misfire and back firing. This bike is really starting to piss me off.Now I might miss my favorite race this weekend! I shouldn't have these issue's with a bike that is only 10mo old.
vent you carb vent tubes to the air box, i had the same problem on long deep water crossings, the bike would stall and when you try to start it with the vent hoses in water it will suck it up and make it worse, i havnt had that problem since i did thatdid that allready
im stumpedIve done that allready too! lol
I had a stock Mikuni on there, but have 36 Lectron on there right now. Not too happy with the Lectron, but would like to test it further with a known good ignition. I also just set up the Mikuni with a JD kit. I have not run that yet either.do you still run the mukuni?
