  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks for the replies guys.....Just one more question---> Anything else needed to complete this install?

:)

For what it worth I use the motion pro cable BUT I have it made 3 inches shorter I run the cable up the left side over the motor to the right side rad up along the right side rad by fram then up to the handle bars over to the clutch handle I use a arc lever Works better In fact I feel no need to even think of changing to a hydrilic system Learned this from Zip Ty Racing Why have 3 more inches of cable to pull on when it is not needed also cable is now NOT out front where it could get damaged My clutch works great and I run 20 50 oil once warmed up will start in gear

If you have any metal fab experience or friends who do, I would suggest adding 5 mm length to the clutch actuator arm for a slightly lighter pull.

For the OP, it really doesn't sound like he did what Dame said in the first reply. He kept talking about the 2 adjusters, but the one that makes the most impact he never mentioned, even after being told about it.

For the longer actuator arm, I noticed while messing with a '92 360 engine that it appears they had a longer arm from the factory. I'm going to look at this a bit more, but the clutch on that bike had a ridiculously nice pull too it. I think I have another one in my box of parts, so, I'll check if it fits with a newer 300. It could be another nice old part to put to use.

The MP cable will fit same as stock, nothing else needed. I put one on my bike and the clutch works great with ATF type F. I've never taken the cover off to check the internal adjustment, no need.

Just got my cable from MP yesterday and I have to comment on dealing with the company itself. Service was perfect, time from payment to landing at my office in Australia only 1 week (this is fast, trust me.), cable was boxed as well as any item Ive ever received in to post. Cable looks like something that superman would use to walk his dog, I never thought I'd see the difference but without even installing you can see how well made it is. Hopefully get a chance to install it over the next few nights and hopefully alleviates some of the dragging. Anyone from OZ wondering on price, worked out the same price as a stock one landed to my door.

Just make sure you lube it before installing it. I didn't notice much of a difference when I installed mine and then when I lubed it, I noticed the difference.
