  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am looking to upgrade my 2008 TE 250 to a 2012 TXC 310 does any one have any information good or bad about this bike. I am a B rider and I ride Hare Scramblems and Enduros.

I own a 2010 TE250 and I rode the 12 TXC310.....it has the 12pt injector and runs much cleaner than my 2010 with a 4 pt.

Handled great...but all x-lights handle great.

Like MikeB said, plenty of info on this site.

TXC 310 is all good and little to no bad. If I was forced to come up with some small negatives it would be the oil drain plug setup (adds about a minute to an oil change) and it would benifit from a wide ratio transmission. (although at race pace the close ratio is nice.) One last small negative is the raditor side platices grab every branch along the trail. That is it, runs super clean in the EFI and the brakes and hadling are top flight, nothing I have ridden has come close in the handeling department.

I added an exhaust system and the power is even better (and it is darn good stock).

What exhaust did you go with ? Would you use that one again ?

I went with an FMF power bomb header and Q4 exhaust. Yes I would do it again. It adds a real boost to the low end and enables you to ride a gear higher and lug it a little to get some traction out of the corners. I added a power surge as well. It adds to the mid range and top as well, but the low end is the best improvement

What did you with the maping and where do live so I can know what type of elvation the bike is running at and thankyou for all the info

I went with JD recomended settings for everything but the "main jet" I went a little richer on that. All there recomended settings, except the main, are a touch richer then stock. (there recomend setting for the main was leaner). 1500ft-2000ft with temps over 100f is where I run it. I have not had it over 6500 ft yet.
