Hi all,
I’ve owned this motorcycle for a few years now without any major issues. It looks good and is more capable than I am. It’s mostly used on single trails.
The bike was due for a piston replacement so I removed the engine at home and handed it over to the dealer for the rebuild. I installed the engine myself after the rebuild.
Ever since the reinstall, it comes up with a “FAIL” message on the dash. The bike works and seems to perform without any issues.
I’ve had it checked by the two dealers in Melbourne. Both mentioned that they cannot check the error due to lack of equipment/tools to scan the codes, something to do with change in tooling after KTM took over. They confirmed the bike performs as it should and I can continue riding it.
The reason for not being able to check the error sounds very strange. That’s why I went to two dealers. Cost me approx $300 just for investigations.
I’ve searched this forum and I have checked the Airbox temp sensor as suggested by user Dangermouse in another thread.
Could it be wiring damage while I was re installing the engine? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
