  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE449 Help with HP gains!

Husqvarna
I'm coming off a 2 stroke and purchased this 2012 te449 due to the plate. Can anyone recommend what to do to gain hp/make faster? Currently I have a fmf pipe and map set to race2 and feel I need more after being on the 2 stroke.

Is there any worthwhile tricks of the trade that produce hp? I don't want to change the cam or crank if I can find other alternatives. Can anyone recommend anything that's proven and work for them. Thanks in advance!

Couple of suggestions, first I believe there is a sticky on popular mods for the 449. You can pull the ecu and ship to zip tye racing for a remab. Believe the cost I'd $50 and good bang for the buck. You can get a 2012 tc449 air box cover to allow for more air and a fmf power core exhaust. On my 2011 I removed the secondary butterfly and it hits harder and is more responnsive, definitely worth the work and cost $0. Good luck. It's a fun bike once you work the kinks out.

It is a fairly powerful motor, are you talking about a lack of hp when rolling on? Sounds like the butterfly mod might be good for you.

Butterfly mod is a no brainer imo. If you don't like it, put it back. Shouldn't take you more than 30minsv
