I recently picked up a left over brand new 2012 TE310 from a dealer. Deal seemed good, $4,709 out the door, so I pulled the trigger. I didn't receive the power-up kit with the bike so I've been doing the power-up mods at home and had a question about the rear sprocket. The stock TE310 comes with a 40-tooth rear. I read somewhere that switching to the 50-tooth requires a few extra links in the chain. Does anyone know what the largest rear sprocket is that I can safely install without changing the chain or adding links. I'll be riding about 10-15% single track and using it for 3 or 4 AMA DS series rides this year. I don't need to go more than 50-55 mph. Any help would be appreciated.
