  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE310 drain plug/oil return line

Me no likey hose # 2 on my 14 - 310R.

I do not understand the point of the factory design.

Why does a blow by hose go to the frame then back to the crankcase and to the air box?

The stainless filter is needed to clean the oil that has entered the frame?

Why not route the blow by straight to a catch can? (guess the frame is a catch can of sorts with this design?)

Or, why not feed the blow by hose directly to the oil fill bypassing the frame all together?

Is what the factory did oil pressure related?

(Mechanical Engineers come forth ha! )

I am eager to see the Oil Line Kit. :)

I'm impatient and doing my own setup :P
If this kits as good as I think it will be ill buy it also.

Need piccies :)

Been off the site for a while - since i lost the oil line connection at the sump plug aaannnddd my engine stopped  .
Going to call ZipTy this week and see when they can rebuild the poor thing (and maybe get a free return line mod since it was my idea:cool:)
Probably send the suspension too.
(selling a really nice 03 YZ250 to pay for the repairs)

Quick question in regards to oil line, the 250's blow by line goes into the frame tanks bottom fitting, middle on to atmosphere or intake airbox, top one seems redundant.

What's stopping me putting the rocker cover blowby into the frames bottom connection also? That way if oil does exit the engine, will it not return into the rocker cover via the same hose and fitting?

That way I can remove the hose barb from engine drain, vent the frames middle connection to atmosphere, plug the frames top fitting and plug airbox intake :)

Sounds good to me.
