  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE310 drain plug/oil return line

Hahaha... I didn't look at it for the 310R's and I am not sure how securely they are fit on your bike. I have heard of the tube coming off from the bottom on more than one occasion (11/12) and I know it's a really poor design period. If I would have designed it, I would have installed an AN fitting on the top of the crankcase. I think someone went on espresso brake for that bottom thing.

I was comparing the parts diagrams for 2012 and 2013 and they appear to use the same setup. Why is this listed as only for 2011-2012?

The up to MY 11-12 does not have a sump drain, so you HAVE to use the funky hose drain plug mess. IMO the constant on&off of the hose for oil changes contributes to the problem.

You can use the kit on 2013-14 TE/TXC 250/310s if you wish to re-route your hose to the fill plug.

I don't have any as of yet. I will try to take some when I go into work on Friday.

Ya come on slacker;) Good timing because I just disassembled my bike to start the off season maintenance. I am dropping off the suspension tomorrow and have a Motosportz damper coming along with the Rekluse and new EVO bars and...LOL

I was planning to take my suspension to MXtech which is near my house but I just called and spoke with TY. Thinking about sending my suspension to Zipty for the makeover. MXtech doesn't do many Husky setups so I need to figure out what I'm doing here. Trying to weigh the options of shipping across country VS using a local shop(a good one though) that doesn't know Husky too well. MXtech is big in MX mainly Japanese and KTM.

Well, Ty doesn't just work on Huskys, he does factory suspension systems for many race teams. Whats nice about the KYB's on the newer Huskys is that they are almost identical to Marzocchi's and we are the US distributor for Marzocchi. If you do ship your suspension, put them in an old pair of jeans. Forks down each leg, shock in the middle. Gun cases work great. Don't do what Kelly did!

Ya come on slacker;) L
No slacker here, been up 38+ hours writing my thesis... I'm a wake, kinda.

I just hope he isn't going for his PhD in psychology and we are the experimental group in his research!

I spoke with TY Thursday and he assured me that the kit will be usable and refined. He did say they haven't started building them yet... Dooohhh! I am not in a hurry since the weather sucks ATM
