  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE 511 JD / FMF Dyno Tuned !

Went ahead and ordered it from BMW,Ducati,Husqvarna of Marietta,Ga where I knew it wouldn't be a pain to get. They re going to drop ship it to me because The only one in stock was for a customer, but no questions asked just took my order.Talk about service

That's total BS they didn't give you the plug. It comes with the bike. Obviously they either don't know what they are doing, or yours found its way into someone's bike other than yours.

Too bad because they have really good prices there. Next time you need parts try Malcolm Smiths in Riverside.

I recently got a JD tuner plus an FMF Slip on for my 2012 SMR511 and it ran pretty good at the default settings on the tuner, Lately my bike has developed a bad problem with the engine hanging at high idle, I saw other threads on this site that said to verify your air screw is out 2 1/4 turns +/- 1/8, I tried that but it won't even start turned that far in is 3 1/4 turns the recommended setting from the factory?

I'm not sure what factory is I did the tps sensor reset.Waiting on the power up plug and tuner.I'm not going to touch the idle air but if you set yours to to rearwheelin's specs his is 3 1/8 turns out try it and see how it runs.

If your idle is too high then your screw is probably too far out. I would suggest going in a half turn or so then start it. Keep adjusting till it's right.

I set my idle to 3 1/4 turns out and it ran at really high idle and the engine would not knock down on off throttle, so went back the drawing board to 2 1/8 plus 1/8 per the instructions on the other post. The idle went down to what sounded to be the regular range and the engine now has strong braking effect again but its back to stalling out easily in the low range

Does any body know if when you make these adjustments is there any learning time required by the ECM? Does it need some road time to figure out how to run right with the new adjustments?

Reset your TPS - use the search bar to find Tingen's post.

I found the default settings were crap on my bike. The hanging idle is a lean condition that you can fix by richening up your idle and tunning your air screw if the tps reset doesn't work.
