  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE 511 JD / FMF Dyno Tuned !

Rearwheelin

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Thanks to a friend who let me have my way with his Dyno Tuner I was able to set the JD up a bit better. I was pretty close on my previous settings and only needed a bit of leaning and richening in the bottom and mid ranges. After our dyno session was over I let him ride it and he was very impressed with the power and how well the TE runs and that's comming from a pro level street racer and occasional KTM supermoto guy....

This chart was a run where I had pulled the air filter and lid out to see how big a difference airbox mods make.... Up too 3 hp !

This is a 1st-6th time to speed . Air filter was in so hp is down a little. I'm not a expert on reading dyno charts so I won't try but there was 3 hp to gain from airbox mods.

NO , I know it looks that way lol I will get them up today I have been really sick and lazy recently :)
No wonder you have been hanging out on here so much instead of riding @ 117!

54HP is the highest I have seen a TE511 so far with a fmf mega bomb/4.1 and pcv.

I agree , port jop + 2 hp, high compression piston + 2hp, mega bomb header another 2hp, cams another 2 hp, power comander V with some timing advances another 2hp... Should get another 10 out of it ha ha ! Then the only place it would be ridable would be Oceano Dunes lol

Megabomb gives closer to 3, TC cams are 3.5. I am unsure what the port/polish gives, I think it is relative to the other mods. I have some ideas on a new air box and the TB is 46mm which is over kill for a 480cc engine.

Looking over your dyno test, this seems right on. The one thing you are missing is the powerbomb which would put you at 50.36 bhp. Husqvarna lists 51hp (0.9 hp loss between crank and wheel on the 511). There is a lean spot between 3600-3900 and 6000-6500 rpm. Might have to modify the maps directly to resolve.

On a side note, I was able to get my 511 to 97mph with only the *stock te can silencer, race map II and stock gearing 15-51 (*decatted + baffle mod).

Rearwheelin will these jd settings work on a stock te 511.JUst picked mine up last saturday and the dealer won't give me or sell me the power up plug so I'm stepping up to the jd.I'm planning on putting fmf powercore soon and getting power bomb header later

My bike is tuned with the plug in so my settings will be a little lean for you but might be ok with your unmodified muffler . Maybe run my settings and when you need to increase or decrease move all the settings equally. The main thing is don't go too lean or your bike will run hot.

Is the plug just a jumper wire or resistor?I called four different dealers plus my dealer Mountain motorsports in Ontario,Ca I'm getting the run around that no 2013 us version has the plug available.I'd buy it if I could get it.Thanks for the help.

Buy the RaceMap plug from another dealer (It's ~$10), without it the JD is near useless/a massive waste. The engine is severely restricted without the plug regardless of whether you have a Tuner or not.

I finally found an actual part number I'm going to call some dealers with the part number 8000H5440.It's just in california with all the emission restrictions it's hard to get the plug.If all else fails Caiman I'll pay you to get it over here to the states to me lol.I appreciate the help.
