  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE 310 runs like CRAAAAAAAP

Help my TE 310 dose not run like a new bike should . It was remapped & uncorked at Motoexotica when purchased , The throttal response down lowe was jerky and motor flamed out easely .I purchased the J D tuner and it is better but still not what I want . The bike has 600 miles on it mostly single track 50 t rear sproket still has stumble of idle and back fires on deceleration .
Dan at Motoexotica said I need the power commander , My question is should I go with the TXC injector & ECU or buy an other programer.

I forget the price but its a oem kitted part numbered boxed item Im thinking around 400 bucks, I just remember saving some of the retail with husky bucks contingency.
Its simply the MY12 TXC310 ECU boxed with the 12 port injector with a OEM P/N on the box.
Just use a good #3 screwdriver to remove the injector assy, those scews are super tight with thread lock, my unworn snap-on with the hex drive on the shaft did the trick. PS on mine I never removed the S/A-dB cap it runs so much better than when she was in TE closed course config.

99.9999% sure its this P/N 8000 H7557 racing kit for TE310

Two things.

How many miles?

These get better after 500 miles or so ( but most people are not patient enough to see how good they can be stock)

The TXC injector and ECU will make it pretty perfect.

Mine runs great with this and George said "it rips"....so

Stop and check P/N, I think all the 2012 models all come with the 12 port injector, so the TXC ECU is the ticket. Do the homework and check the parts catalog. I was dealling with my 2011 TE310 which came with the TE310 ECU (of course) and the 6 port injector.

If your 310 sucks with the JD tuner, something else is wrong with it. Throwing money at it COULD solve the problem if you get lucky and the problem is something you replaced. But proper diagnosis is what you need.

Proper diagnosis is what is needed first. We worked on a MY13 310R which wasn't running to par. We loaded new mapping into the oem ecu which produced a much better running engine than the original mapping.

And then you can add...

And

If you wish further tuning past these items, the powercommander5 will do just that.

My '12 TE 310 was definitely NOT the 12 port stock. Think it was 4 port, but 4 port, 6 port...

OK I have 2011 TE 250, after break in, I installed a full Leo and race ECU, it just amplified the miss.
So I wasted $ 800 bucks on a PC 5 / Auto Tune to get it running like it should ??? NOT. Then this mod
the 12 port injecter/ TXC ECU became available for the "FIX" and it did.... Any one that wants to dought the fix??? come ride some Black Diamonds at Hollister Hills, CA. with me. The little 250 is ripping..........................

I have a PC 5 / Auto Tune "For Sale"

we have sold some of the txc ecu/ injector kits.they are $380 but presently are on back order.with this mod sometimes the bike runs great and sometimes they just run better.seems like the better the exhaust system the better the bike runs with that mod.i have seen one bike with a power commander and it sounded like it ran great but I actually never rode it so I cant say for sure it is the best way to go.any feedback from 2011-2012 310 owners with jd tuners, power commanders and ecu, injector upgrade kits would be helpful.dan

12 port and ecu is the way to go hands down....Stock injector is 4 port and yellow in color.

As robertaccio said, PN# 8000H7557 "racing injector kit for TE310"

I like the 12 port injector and for most everyone the upgraded ecu is perfectly fine. I also like the power commander 5 with the 12 port injector because it is unlimited. You can add the same map as the updated ecu and tweak it further.

I have a power commander 5 for a 10-11 husky I'm selling. I have a 12 and they sold me the wrong pcv. What does the JD tuner do? Is that the one you can self adjust without a computer?
