  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2012 Tc250 Run Issue

Recently obtained a 2012 tc250. Bike will start and run but will cut off after idling @ minute. Idle speed set where it needs to be. If given throttle in neutral it will stay running till let off throttle. If bike ridden it will shut off after a short ride when pulling in the clutch. When started the idle sounds good, but will have an intermittent miss. Also is harder to start after it stalls. Spark plug replaced to rule it out. Thinking issue may be stator. Book provides limited info for testing but ohms test on yellow wires is 1.4-1.6 book calls for .6. Any thoughts before I replace stator.
 
Hi get a new Petrol filter in... maby a new injector as well ... if the bike is old check the inlet valves I had the some problems.. after that ... I but a new TPS sensor near the timing chain Problem gone ! send update reg
 
May have to look in that direction it is just that idles so well when it starts and runs really well too, but then when hot pull in clutch to shift and shuts off. Idle same start it up idles great for 30 seconds then a miss or two then shut off. Then seemed difficult to start when hot and shut right back off. Doesn't seem like your typical fuel issue, but i guess this week ill try to take a look at injector before investing in stator.
 
My Bike than the some thin difficult to start when hot ..running lean backfiring etc when cold idling perfect around the block but after 5 - 10 minutes startet to backfire like hell I gone to all fuel issues etc. Then i but this Temp sensor ( white socket ) what goes in to ECU .. Bike is perfect now
 
I believe my bike only has an air temp sensor that goes in airbox/intake. Is that what you are referring to? Going to try to check injector tomorrow if I get time.
 
Ok checked out the injector and it appeared ok and clean for what thats worth, but realized the crazy thing that it DOES have a water temp sender although I from what I have seen didnt think it should. Ill probably replace.
