• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

We and a few other dealers will be getting a very limited number of 2012 black and white SM511s MSRP $8995 ,to be released soon. Our guess is sometime before or around late April first part of May.

Taking deposits.

Yes thats right; out of TE250, TE449, TC449, TE511, and WR250s until 2013 models are released.

Looks like BMW is trying to create some pent-up demand for 2013. Probably not a bad strategy in today's market.

Good news on the SM but out of those other models before the season even really starts??? is that normal or whats up? Seems like if they want to sell more bike you would have to have something to sell. Are sales way stronger than anticipated or were they terribly short sighted? Weird.

That could be a good thing. It could mean a couple of things. One is that they cut the 2012 production short on some models to get a jump on 2013 production so they are in the dealers more in line with the other brands. Or, that there are some new bikes coming.

Then there's just the fact that those models have the most left overs sitting around in the dealer showrooms and that the 2012 TE250 is a U.S. only special.

The rest of the models seem to be in fair numbers yet in the warehouse, and there even some new incentives on some coming up.

The numbers game is hard, not a great thing to keep training everyone to wait for left over model deals so I'm sure they are just trying to devote that money towards having the new line-up ready sooner.

We have a really good stock of bikes but one thing that's using up some of the bikes is dealer development; new dealers popping up here and there seems to drop warehouse numbers quickly.

The TE449/511s surprise me running out so soon since they really didnt catch on big until put on sale/incentivized. Now that they are out there people are finding out what great, reliable bikes they are.

Cant wait to see what they do with 2013 models.

I have been told that certain 2013 models could be in NA as soon as late July. I think that BMW is trying to stop the massive discounting that Husky has trained its buyers to wait for every year. With no bikes available there is no need to drop their pants and give units away.

I've heard the same thing, but my sources say August.

We've always asked them to give us reasonble expectations, rather have them come earlier than later than they said.

Awesome looking machine. But alas, unless it came with a 7th gear or a drastic sprocket change, I'll pass versus having my nuggets vibrated off at 60 MPH on the freeway. ;)

Geared my Te449 up and it is really smoorth at 70mph on the freeway and really the 511 doesnt have many more vibes, the motard 511 we built really seems fine at freeway speeds , just very light.

the new 2011 Te/Sm511 we built, check the pipe and wheels.$8395added outside shots shows off red stripes better.

If you are just using it for street use like this one you could gear it way up and be fine. I put a 46 on the rear of my 511, did 75 no problem and could still ride it in the woods with some additional clutch work. EZ to pull a tall first on the street.

its here,bar end wieights,buddy pegs,satin black rims,wave rotors.

I have seen this design before, on a KTM I think. That bike also has a much larger silencer heat shield. These pegs could be made easily for less than 230 dollars, *cough* course you should always buy husqvarna oem parts...
