    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2012 449 Clutch Lever

So I took off the stock plastic hand guard on the clutch lever to install the new Cycras. When I removed the pivot bolt to take off the black plastic mount the lever popped off and fell to the ground. Also, a really small spring and small plastic pin popped off to.

I think I re-installed them properly but wanted to check with you guys.

It seems the pin gets inserted inside the spring. They then fit in a recess on the lever knuckle opposite the adjuster screw. The other side of the spring fit into the body of the lever.

Seemed to work fine so far.

So the pin is on lever side vs the body side.

The hardware holding on the plastic guards was different on clutch side them brake side. The bolts are also too long without the guards.

Same thing happened to me. You are correct. Mine came with an extra bolt to use if you remove the stock guard as well as the rubber boot. I installed Acerbis guards as they are sturdier.
 
I didn't get any extra bolts. Good to hear I am not the only one it happened to. After I installed the guards I adjusted the lever position with the little knob. Saw that is why the little spring is there - to push the lever towards the grip when turning the knob. If it wasn't there the lever would not move when turning the knob.
