• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 WR300 vs 2011 KTM 350 xcf

Husqvarna
AA Class
I really wanted to by a wr300, neighbour bought one last yr and it seemed like a good machine (from what i rode of it). Anyways, the plan was to buy from one from a local dealer.
Thing got cross threaded with their service,
-one guy said that they weren't getting 2011 and that he would give me 200 off of a 2010
-another guy said 2011 were coming in April, buy the 449 on the floor
-one of them said we have 2010 YZF450 on for a good price
-then I discovered that they ripped me off of some race fuel i bought from them, took it back and they wanted to give me in store credit. I was so mad that I could have punched him in the throat.

WHY ARE SOME DEALERS A PITA. I use to work a kawi dealer and never told people a bunch of lies, and made a point of screwing people around. I consider myself a great customer, go in order my stuff in a timely manor, (quite often give them the PN and tell them from which distributor, pay my bills, never order something that I don't pick up)

So back to my trusty KTM deal and know have a brand new KTM 350 XCF in the garage. I really wanted to get back on a 2st this year and would have, but my dealer said "have one 350 xcf coming in and your name is on it, or I can get you a 2012 300 XC".

I will try it and see if it works for me.

well no matter how much you like or want a certain bike...you have to go with what you can get support for...not saying a deal but a good local dealer....that right now is the problem with husky in my area...no Husky dealer for...ummmm hell dont know maybe 500 miles...there are good dealers out there but that still doesnt replace that relationship between you and your local dealer....IMO good luck on the Kaboom...i never had a problem with them...although I was the dealer(lol)

That's a bummer about your dealer giving you the runaround on the bikes you were really after. On the other hand though, the 350 is a very fun motorcycle to ride. I was lucky enough to spend a couple months with one while we were developing products for it. Didn't get to ride it as much as I wanted to, but had a blast every time I did ride it. And if you don't like it the good news is that next year there will be another round of new bikes to choose from and you can try again.

My local dealer is geographically 2,000 miles away but also as close as my computer/telephone. I bought my bike from Bill's Motorcycles Plus, it was shipped to me in a crate and I've been buying parts via the brown truck. I do have the ability and tools to work on the bike myself so I really don't need any support that requires more than a phone call. The couple of times I have called Bills for advise and they were very helpful. Dealers that treat people the way you are describing usually don't last long, hopefully they will be replaced with a good one like Bills.

Have to agree a great dealer makes all the difference. Can't beat Bill's ,genuine caring enthusiasts there. That KTM should be an awesomet bike also.KP

Good luck with the "Creamcycle", people are liking the 350. So... who is this "Bad Dealer"? It would be nice to know, so others can be spared. I'm very fortunate to have Bottones, as my dealer.
