  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi Guys,
I searched around but didn't find anyone discussing 2011 250 jetting. Anyone get these all figured out? I'm pretty experienced with this type of stuff, but I always like to hear what others have come up with. I'm in S. CA and usually ride at around 2000 ft.

Here's what's in it
380 main
17.5 pilot
6CFY5-74 needle clip in #3 (A 6GAY69-74 also came with it)
5.0 slide

In my 09 I've been running
400 main
35 pilot
6BFY43-74 needle clip in #2
4.0 slide

Thanks.

Have you ridden it yet? There is a jetting update to do on that bike. Chances are it will seize up with that jetting.

My 09 is similar to yours

Year & Bike Model = 2009 WR250
Carb = Mikuni
Pipe & Silencer =Stock
Other engine mods = none
Premix ratio & fuel type = 32:1 Lucas synthetic blend & VP 110
Temperature range (deg F) = 70 degrees F humidity 50%
Elevation (feet) = actual altitude is 1,100 ft. air density altitude is usually between 1500ft and 2500ft in this area but I have seen 3500 ft air in the humid summer.
Main jet =420
Pilot jet = 32.5
Needle = E16BFY43-74 stock
Clip position = 2nd clip with 1/2 step washer/spacer
Air screw setting = 1 1/2
Slide = stock 4.0

Interesting. That looks like the jetting in the restricted model. Did other jets come with it too?

In my 09 at 6000 ft I'm using the GAY needle in the 2nd, and 30 Pilot. I have been using a 360 main, but I need to check that again since I just adjusted my powervalve.
