• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 wr150

For real... this came from Husky US, after trip to Italy for the 630 launch. I'm not sure, but I believe US/Canada will get a CR150 also. Like KTM's line up, the 125's will no longer be availible in US/Canada

Norman,

That is very cool news. I think we all assumed this would be the logical step when they made an oem 144 kit but it is nice to hear it actually happened. They are going to sell a boat load of these.

Norman if the bike will be here say July, why would Husqvarna not be doing something now to market it and keep some of potential buyers in the loop. Thanks for the info.

Neat. Do you have any more specs ? Fuel capacity ? Actual displacement (144cc or 150cc) ? I may actually consider such a ride. Hope it has more low end than my 1982 & 83 WR125s did. After Czecho, I swore off 125cc bikes. (Did a lot of swearing at them too)

I'm sorry Norm but this is too big of news to keep away from the others that may not have a 2st now because they want a 150 2st

I think it will get more exposure in the News room

Bike Industry: press releases, magazine articles, rumors

2st -> newsroom

They need to sell off 2010 models first. If they release to early people will wait. I was going to look at a 2009 wr 125 today but I'm going to wait now.

I'm with Vinduro too -- I'd love some specs as well.

Dave,

At some point I am going to take a weekend off this spring and come down to Boise. I am going to meet up with Kevin and do some 125/144 putzing. You are welcome to ride my 144 and see what you think. If the oem runs like mine does currently it will be a hit.

Yep, this has been the rumor for a while. I believe it is really a 144, basically a factory kit bike like the 300. I wonder if anyone will miss the 125? I have been on the fence on if i want a 144 kit on my 125 since i got it ripping. :excuseme:

I would assume it would be 144
1. why re invent the wheel
2 even though called 150, KTM is still a 144 (probably a simple marketing thing...i.e. easier to remember than 144)

You did great BITD on a 125 and it was all worth the swearing.
Keep it up Dwight!

Well that maybe the reason the "elusive 144 kits" from the factory are like Jimmy Hoffa. I hear less than a dozen of those kits were ever shiped to the USA/Canada. Meant to anyone.whether they ordered one or not (individuals and dealers)
Kind of like the factory replica riding gear.

Now I'll have to start saving up.......

Darn Husky designers/engineers keep making me want to spend $$$$
