  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TXC 511 Supermoto

The fuel pump point would work well, it is the highest current draw on the bike and is only powered during operation.

I ran my hour meter off of the fuel pump relay under the air box. No isuse. I assuming there ahould be plenty of power there or the voltage regulator on the frame near there too. Let em know how it works. I still need to hook mine up but no rush supermoto season is still a few months away here.

That's a great idea. It will probably just come down to which one is easiest to get to It's bitter cold here so no riding for at least a month.

you can pop the pins out of the connector with a small pick or screw driver, then just solder and heat shrink the terminals and away you go. There is power and ground right there.

For anyone like me following this thread who didn't know which relay is for the fuel pump here it is

I found these images in teuchter's motominder hour meter thread. Shows the location of the fuel pump relay and which wire (blue with green stripe). image.jpg image.jpg

We are currently prepping for the latest winter weather event here in the southeast USA. I had the unusual combo this time of year of free time and good warm weather and got the bike back together yesterday.

I removed the terminal (blue with green str from above) for the fuel pump relay and soldered the +12v for the Autotune module onto it and replaced it in the connector. This looks neat and works perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion.

I enabled the AT module in the software and went to look for the AFR table. I had the factory ZipTy map loaded and there is not an AFR table with that one. I downloaded the 2 maps that Dynojet has for the 511 and neither of them have an AFR table. I made a preliminary chart with 13.5 in the low rpm / low throttle area. And 12.8 in the high rpm / high throttle area, and transition in between. I'm sure there is a more scientific way, but this will get me going and I don't have to accept the changes.

I forgot to put the CAN block plug into the autotune module. This plugs into the same place as the cable that links the AT to the PCV. I have no idea why there are 2 ports since you can only hook it to one PCV. At any rate if the little plug is not installed the AT module is essentially not there.

The bike fired right up with little hesitation. All parameters are displayed directly on the computer screen such as throttle position, rpm, AFR, etc. all seems like it's working so I did a last minute leak check and headed out for a test ride.

I haven't downloaded the AT trims, but I feel certain that it's working. I have the factory ZipTy map loaded, initially there was some slight sputtering and popping in the transition from cracked to medium throttle, after a while it went away and just started ripping.

The coolant temp sensor worked perfectly on the trail tech voyager, but the rpms were all over the place. I temporarily tapped the red wire going to the coil for the tach, and I think that's where the PCV gets its tach signal. I still have to troubleshoot the wheel speed sensor.

I have a few updates.
After getting good enough weather to do some testing, I took the bike out for a 20 minute ride. I tried to spend time at all rpms and throttle positions (impossible in such a short time but I tried) to get a rough idea of where the zip Ty factory map was in relation to my arbitrary AFR map numbers.

When I downloaded the trims the autotune was making there was a football shaped pattern of trims that ranged from 10 to 20 percent. I took this to mean that the AFR settings were on the rich side and did not accept the trim values.

I changed the AFR map values to 13 - 13.5 and went out again.

The bike was much more responsive with these AFR numbers. I haven't had a chance to download the new trim numbers, but I predict that they will be much lower.

That said, I bought this bike to learn supermoto riding, but it's first outing turned out to be a dual sport adventure with the dirt tires and wheels that came with the bike when I bought it. I haven't been on a dirt bike since 04 and I have to say it was a blast!! We did about 115 miles of about 50/50 street-dirt Sunday. I was so tired that I barely made it to work Monday.

This bike is too much fun to ride. I even found it inspiring my confidence on pavement with the knobbies.

Here are a couple pics with the dirty wheels and also my new ZipTy billet gas cap that goes on easy the way it should, and doesn't leak.

Also with 1100cc of oil and 115 miles of flogging, there is no oil in my airbox. Thanks ZipTy full oil re circulation kit!!image.jpg image.jpg
