  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE449 Owner Observations

Thanks for the help guys. Since I weigh 275 without gear, should I try the 5.6kg rear spring or try the 5.4kg first?

Not going to be at Dezert Daze. I'm going to Ocotillo with some friends and family for St. Patty's weekend.

This is What I currently have with a Re valve set for 220 lbs plus gear.
Shock SR= 5.4 Sage 105MM Compression Low is out 11 clicks Compression High is out 1 1/2 Clicks Rebound 10 clicks.
Fork SR= .50 Preload 5MM. Compression Clicks out 10 Rebound Clicks out 14, 115cc of oil
Oil is 5wt.

Im 195 lbs and find the 54 spring works very well of me. Race sag 95mm, static sag 43mm
Hi Spud,

Just a passing comment.
IMO it appears to me that the 5.4 spring is actually too stiff for you based on those numbers.
At 195 lbs the perfect rate would have been 5.2 Kg, but as the standard spring is 5.1 Kg I would have thought that clickers would have been enough.
Of course this all depends on what type of riding you do and how fast you are !

Hi Sam, im not a suspension expert so all im going to say is my suspension was setup by the uk husqvarna racing and it works very well.

Picked up the bike yesterday and rode it home 30 miles. Set the sag to 115mm since I wasn't wearing all my gear. Also dropped the forks down in the triples so they are even with the first line. It was at the second line initially. If I don't give it throttle, it tends to stall in 1st leaving from a stop. Played around in the Hasayampa riverbed for a few minutes. It is way too soft for going through whoops right now. I will do some more adjusting this weekend on my days off. I already ordered Touratech bar risers. I'm only 5' 11" and the bars seem too low. Thinking about a JD Tuner for the stalling issue.
