  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 Te310 Temp Sensor

Mikenc

Husqvarna
A Class
I just went through my second temp sensor (60 hrs on bike). It seem like husky has upgraded the part - number 8000a6736 to 8000h3649. Hopefully this will improve the reliability. I would advise folks to carry and extra temp semsor it is only a $12 part. If you are in a pinch and the bike will not start unplug the sensor and it should fire right up (if that is the problem). I think water is getting in and damaging the sensors.

I have ordered 2 of the new improved version - lets see what happens.

I have a spare (1st version) but I am still running with my original in my 09TE450 flawlessly. I bet if I put my spare one in my chances of having problems would increase. I have spent too much time in water and rain for that to be the cause. I think there are simply a higher than acceptable percentage of faulty sensors that were put into distribution. I think I got one of the "good" ones originally put on by the factory- if it works for 3 years its good. I have about 50 hours on the bike reported by I/beat and haven't had a major issue so far.

Hi Mikenc...have you had luck with new sensor? I just ordered two...with two gaskets and shipping for 30.00...Thanks for the heads up...I'll change the old one next weekend...

Thats awesome...is the sensor on the back of the head? And when you put the new one on did you have to remove the tank?

Yes it is on back side of motor...do not need to remove tank. Just unscrew and replace only a few drops of water come out.
