  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE310 bar riser solutions?

mnb

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I need some serious bar riser action on my 310. I'm considering the 2" RoxRisers, but I'd really rather not deal with cable swapping as that gets labor intensive and isn't all that cheap, either. I'm looking for the most rise I can get, cheaply.

Has anyone installed these? Any issues with the throttle cable? brake lines? clutch? If so, what workarounds did the trick for you?

Whatever you do, don't install RoxRisers on an offroad bike let alone a dirt bike, very bad idea and will never hold up after the first fall. However if you just want the bars taller that is easy with a spacer and longer bolt between the bar riser block and the top clamp, I'm pretty sure that's available from Husky as the TE450/510's used to have a spacer while the SM's and 250's and did not.

To fix that problem I'm going with aftermarket Xtrig triple clamps and using my own sub-mount Scott's stabilizer set-up I had made for my G450X. This will put the bars in the farthest forward position and about 15-20mm rise as well.

That's not even an inch. The stock Husky spacer is about 1/2", maybe 1/3". I need a minimum of 1.5", preferably 2".

As far as rox risers holding up in a fall, I know several ADV riders that use them, they fall, no problems. I'm sure they'll twist if you don't torque them down.

I bought some 45mm (nearly 2 inches) risers from my local dealer here in OZ. Came with longer bolts etc. Cost about $30AUD

Longer bolts for the bar clamps are standard hardware store items. An extra set of the OEM spacers would work, or you can use a stack of washers. I have about 1" of rise and had to rotate the throttle tube so the throttle cables were on the underside of the bar, but all the other cables reached.

I'm assuming you need higher bars and spacers because you are tall. I'm in the same situation(not fun to stand up on the bike). How did you arrive at how much rise you need? I don't want to spend money for new bars and make spacers unless I know how much rise is best.Any suggestions?

Nothing wrong with the Rox Risers and they do hold up just fine in a fall. What doesn't hold up well is the stock Husky handlebar clamp when used in conjunction with the Rox Risers.. DAMHIK :( The risers create a lever arm so in the event of a decent fall, the bar clamp twists and tweaks out of true. They're a sacrificial part though, and fairly cheap, around $14 last time I checked.

I'm reading this with interest as I have been though many trials of risers etc. The posts all relate to stuff that I have come across as well. My solution to the problem has been to change the top clamp and mate this with a sub mount and a risers. The supplier for all of this kit? Billet Racing Products in Colorado. Get in touch with Jim Rios and he will help you out. You dont actually need to go the full triple clamp route as long as you use the alloy clamp spacers. All the cables fit although you may need to take the throttle cables behind the bars.
BTW - I'm 6'4" and with the rise and low footpegs I'm now comfortable, stable, confident, much faster and can be on the pegs all day - 240 ish miles a day in the rallies without any problems now.

I put the Touratechs on mine, so far they are very nice. I only added one inch though.

I went with 1.75" RoxRisers, because I wanted the height. It's really helped make standing position usable. Now if only my knee would make standing position usable...
