  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE250 vs 2012 TXC310

I have a good deal on a new 2012 TXC310, I currently have a 2011 TE250 with full Akraapovic exhaust pipe, 12 port fuel injector, remap ECU, plus race ECU that sucks. It still doesn't have the low in power that I want, you need to keep it in the mid range on the power band. I ride extremely technical terrain. Most of the people that I ride with have motorcross two strokes tuned for the woods. May question is, is the TXC310 much better, I have a killer deal and the 2013 are to expensive. My TE250 is a great bike, but down on power. From what i been reading looks like all that i would need is a full exhaust and the JD jetting kit for the 310, also i have a rekluse core exp that will go on the TXC310 as well. Any feed back would help.

I'd pick up the 310, you probably won't even want a pipe when you get the bike. Maybe in the future. The stock power is pretty sweet on the 310 IMHO. But of course, more is always better right?

2012 TXC310's are available CHEAP right now. With a full exhaust they have pretty much the same power as the new redhead as the exhaust adds about 3hp from bottom to top. The JD tuner allows you to tailor the injection but from what I can gather is never quite as seamless as the new injection - not a deal breaker in my book.
A friend of mine has an 09 TC250 which needs to be WRUNG out to go anywhere while my 12 TXC310 with exhaust and tuner grunts really well down low and hauls pretty well up top. I feel that I have probably 50% more power than the 09 TC250 - and a LOT more usable power in real world tight conditions which means a LOT less shifting too.
(The exhaust you currently have will probably fit the 310 too)

Thanks guys, yeah my pipe will fit, my 12 port fuel injector, basically everything will transfer over even my Rekluse core EXP 2.0. The TE250 is a great bike but i am shifting all the time and you need to stay in the power band. On the JD tuner does it run better with it and can you us the stock tune that is already program in it. I had the Dyno jet power commander formy TE250 and that sucked plus very hard to tune unless you have tons of time to play with it. Also i have the race ECU as well, but didn't like it at all. I just ran the stock ECU WITH IT BEING REMAPED.
