  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I went to TORCS (texas off road championship series) race yesterday saturday and today sunday.

OK, got there yesterday, perfect weather, 75, cloudy...!!

Go to practice, everything perfect, 5.5. miles, lots of turns, sand, awesome track.

Ok, by 1:40 ready to race

By half of the second lap my bike just dies, like the switch was off, tried to start it, nothing, e-start working perfect, battery never drained, kick after kick and nothing, fuel pump sounds like it was working.... after 7 or 8 minutes bike started again like nothing happened.

One more lap and the bike dies again...!!! Same thing.... 5 to 7 minutes after died started again...!!!

Sunday the same thing....!!! 2 Laps.. dies, turn on again and 3/4 of a lap and dies again

What could be the problem?

PLEASE HELP..!!

Thanks

Sounds like the pump is overheating
check the check valve on the gas cap
I would remove it
read all the post in the EFI section you will learn a lot there
about what happens to the EFI bikes and you will be able to work your way around it.

I have a 2011 TE 250 with about 250 miles on it. It has stalled on occasion but not with the frequency you seem to be having. I would have to guess you have a fueling issue. When mine has stalled it seems to be when I am off the gas entirely. Seems like I have to keep the rev's up. I have the JD jetting kit in a box that many here have installed and I plan on putting it on next weekend. It is suppose to help with better fueling and to compensate for altitude and temp variances as well as add some oomph. I wanted to break the engine in first so I could really feel the difference with the kit on. Hope you get it resolved because so far I love the bike. The suspension is incredible right out of the box and with the restrictors all removed and the 50t sprocket on it just rocks for a 250. Very nimble handling and a nice to have something that stands out from the crowd.

I had the problem before with the aftermarket shorty valve but as soon as i release the pressure in the tank the bike start right then.
For this race i get the two way valve and still the bike suddenly dies.
I wiil read all the EFI post, thank you.

I went to Houston a month ago with my new 2011 TE310. I had the same problem. I live in NC and when I got back the local dealer contacted Husky and they told him to remove the fan. Jason Thomas had the same problem. I have competed in three races since then with the fan removed and no problems in 80 degree weather. Also look into the 12hole injector upgrade from a Kawasaki zx10.

What would the fan have to do with it? It's just a 2 wire device?

I'd try it without the 2 way valve and just a straight tank hose and see if that helps. I also had moisture in my TPS connector that did something similar.

Just unplug it and give it a shot. The connector is 6-8inches from fan. I was having the exact same problem and it even happened in Texas. If it doesn't fix your problem plug it back in. Simple possible fix with no cost involved.
