As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

This year, the team was BMW-husqvarna, not like before, only BMW. Even the motor hs been twinkled and in many ways changed by husqvarna. It is still "hard" in the mechanics, but nothing compared to the BMW sound.
Will it last? Time will tell, but BMW has been running several Desert Rallies with their version, thousands of K´s.
The 449 feels light and handy, from the moment you roll it in the shop, before pushing start for the first time. And riding just makes me laugh. I still have the TE250, and I have said before, that 450's in general, are no good for narrow trials, but maybe I will change on this one. The feeling of control is amazing, super mapping. My old 2004 TE450, just killed my arms, so unlike the 449. And suspension, great. Same fork as my 250, but it feels like it has been tuned.
All the other KTM, Honda etc guys who tried, have a strange smile after testing, though they will not give in. But thats religion. Thumbs up from Denmark

I've called around a bit and the best I can find is at a dealership in PA, Schulz Cycle and ATV. They were willing to give me a 2011 TE449 with their "5HR prep period included" with includes taking the bike apart, lubing it all up, etc. They said theyd even set the SAG to my height, weight, and riding style for me all for $ 8499. I'm pretty new at buying bikes is this a good deal?

Great looking bike in person, but as far as sales, I doubt very much we will see starting lines and trails full of 449's. Maybe the dual sport crowd may have more show up?
No one I know is considering the 449. But all would like a TXC310 that husky does not build for some reason.

Not that the other is bad, but there is a world of difference. I would clearly recommend all the new stuff, it simply handles much better (etc etc.), as several already experienced.
The 510 is a beast either way (as I see it), but at the end of the day, it alle comes down to the usage of the bike. Seek high & low, in order to get to try both. i'm certain someone near you, will be willing to give you the opportunity. I may be to far away though![]()
