  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where did you purchase the oil filter cap? I just goggled it and cam up dry!

It's a Husqvarna hard parts item, any dealer can order it. I think Ty sells one he makes too. I'm working on a new one that is more advanced yet.

Imperial? Is that like Wentworth?
:banghead:
I work in a business where it is common to call US sizing Imperial, as opposed to normal rest-of-the-world sizing aka metric.

Yes, SAE it is, and I do need one of those lovely red bits that actually fits a socket as my 21.5 is rounding off on the 511. Im sure Motosportz can help me out though.

The oil filter cap I am working on doesn't use a socket, instead it uses a 3/8" drive extension and will never strip. It also contains an extremely powerful magnet, capable of removing debris in the 0.5 micron level. I will have those after breather mod is complete. Hopefully distributed through Motorsportz and zip-ty.

I once heard that someone was going to do this for the front axle nut also...almost everyone has a 3/8 drive handy...

I'm in for both! The Air breather mod should give us 3 Xtra HP! Whats the ETA on the airbreathers?

Checking in on this item... Have you begun production yet?

I have a new one designed, but it is still in que to be manufactured. It looks like our front axle nut.

This whole thing about the oil filter cap sucks! You can order the anodized red cap from a Husky dealer but of course its on back order. the part number is 8000H4084. I happened to have a lug wrench laying in my garage that I'm assuming is a 21.5 mm socket size with a little pounding it on I was able to loosen the oil cap but it won't take too much of that B4 it is stripped to hell. This is major BS on the part of Huskey as far as I'm concerned I hope the Austrians are a little smarter

Rang up R&D Husky here in Australia
Me: "After a oil filter cap TE511"
R&D: "Yup, Red anodized Husky part, have that on the shelf".
Me: "Ill take it!".

arrived next day. AU$35

That is the Husky hard part. Our oil filter cap filters out fine materials from the oil supply which would normally pass through the oil filter.
