2011 TE 310 12 port injector and ECU update with pics

Sub-frame pulled away per workshop manual, throttle body exits on right-hand side

Heated injector housing screws with soldering iron to no avail. Used impact hammer to remove.

New hex head bolts locktite-ed in place

I tried an impact driver and they started to twist.

I may have to drill them out.

Do you think the screws studs will come out easily with the heads off?

I don't really know. I'd never drilled out a screw in my life, so I went to Sears and got the hardest drill bit I could find and an extractor bit before I even used the impact driver. The pic shows the bit busted off in the screw . So I hacksawed a slot in the head and used the impact driver. After some hard hammer blows the screw head, at least visually, had not seemed to budge. However, switching to a hand driver, the screw just came right off.

I used a small chisel, about 2 good licks with the hammer and they were out.

I did it to rectify an inconsistent metering issue at small throttle openings. Some people are able to tune it out with iBeat and/or JD tuner. I wasn’t able to, in hours of experimentation with both. Some bikes don’t have it. Some people just live with it.

Due to EPA and CARB emmissions regulations, the issue could be more agressive in North American units than those in other parts of the world.

I have had good success with removing stuborn float bowl screws with a trusty set of mechanics vise grips.

Those Phillips type fasteners may be JIS (Japanese Industry Standard). Phillips don't go far enough into the slots.

I got my Husq part from Halls Cycles. It was the unit that is bundled with the 8000H7557 kit

I think the Mikuni injector fits other bike models, and some cars too.

Maybe you can get it somewhere else cheaper/closer ??

I went JD Jettting first, then the 12 port, then the ECU. So I was able to compare 11 TE ECU to 12 TXC ECU...and it is a night and day difference! The bike runs like it should run. The timing and ignition are clean and crisp and the power is instant through the entire range. It just wants to lift the front tire at every handleful of throttle in all gears. I was really quite disappointed with the engine until the new ECU.
