  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE 250 Spark plug service

510 SM SC

Husqvarna
AA Class
Simple task, Ha Ha.
After doing a search, I found info on thin wall sockets, Jap bike spark plug wrenches etc. So I went to my dealer to see what they had/ recommended??? I thought they might have something, Motion-pro
etc??? Nada, left with a KTM 250 SX? spark plug tool 16mm thinking it would do the job. Well here is how it went, pulled the tank up (not full removal) to get clearance to service the plug. Fit the KTM
plug wrench to the plug and attemptView attachment 33671View attachment 33671IMGP0013.JPG to loosen it. I felt it give and removed the tool to remove the plug by hand, only to find the tool broke. So now I have a piece of the tool stuck down in the hole next to the plug. I took 2+hrs to fish the broken piece with wires/magnet etc. Dealer gladly gave me my money back, So what is the best tool to service the plug???

There's not much else to choose from as far as I know, I use a similar steel, thin walled box spanner with no issues, even that is a snug fit so anything any more substantial is not going to squeeze down the hole.

I changed the plug on my 2011 TE250 last week, took the tank right off and used a spark plug spanner I bought from my local bike shop.

Do you have any bud's with a DRZ400 or KLX400? the plug socket from my old 2003 KLX400R fits my 2011 TE310 just fine. It has a 14mm nutted top for easy box end wrench grip. Probable cheep to order from a suzuki bike shop.
